Salsa's new writeup
Ingratiating, fun-loving, sassy...Salsa lives each day with gusto and gratitude enjoying every minute of her day.
Now being in her foster home for several weeks:
- she has learned all of the house rules
- has had no accidents in two weeks with the use of a doggie door to a fenced yard
- knows the difference of what is appropriate to chew and not to chew for the most part
- has learned that settling onto a doggie bed is a wonderful thing.
She's wonderfully quiet in her crate, an extremely personable girl, affectionate with adults, wonderful with children and a delight to have as part of our family. Salsa likes other dogs but can be quite pushy and not real good about respecting other dog's boundaries feeling absolutely certain that once they get to know her and her good intentions of playing with them that they will accept and forgive her sometimes bossy nature and manipulation of any given situation to get what she wants.
In our home with three resident female beagles and her brother Caesar, (they adore each other) the pecking order and boundary lines have been established and all is well in Salsa's world.
Having said that, if Salsa is to live with another dog, it would be best to be a non-alpha male, a beagle that would be tolerant of her invasion of personal space and her owner beagle experienced in a multiple dog home.
If an only dog, our recommendation would be that her family continue to socialize her to keep her the friendly, tail wagging girl that she is as she matures into adulthood. Salsa did very well at a recent adoption day with multiple dogs around and is very well behaved in our home, comfortable with all visitors (there are many) and celebrates life with a joyous nature.
She's a great girl with tons of personality, a sad _expression on her face that nobody can resist once knowing the abundance of love she wants to share with their family. She's great company and in short, she's got great heart!!!!
